Septic
system disposal fields generally fail due to lack of oxygen in
the disposal field. Bacteria that live under these anaerobic conditions
proliferate creating a clogging zone along the sides and base
of the disposal field. OxyBoost delays the onset of anaerobic
conditions, and the accompanying clogging in a disposal field
by boosting the oxygen content in the wastewater. OxyBoost is
intended to be installed in systems served by effluent pumps.
The Process
The
OxyBoost consists of a rugged HDPE 9-hole distribution box enclosing
a venturi and air line. The OxyBoost is installed in lieu of a
conventional distribution box at the head of a subsurface disposal
area where it receives septic tank effluent from the pump station.
When the effluent pump activates during its normal operation,
wastewater is pumped through the OxyBoost before entering the
disposal area. Inside the OxyBoost, air is drawn into the wastewater
via the venturi. The oxygenated wastewater is then evenly distributed
to the disposal area via the eight available outlets. The OxyBoost
essentially allows a single effluent pump to both transport and
aerate wastewater.
The entire unit is constructed of the highest quality components
to ensure a long, useful life. The venturi and air line check
valve are easily removed from the installed unit should they ever
require cleaning.
The OxyBoost is an extremely cost-effective method of aerating
wastewater in systems that require an effluent pump due to elevation
requirements. The standard OxyBoost is designed for residential
and commercial applications and is supplied with fittings for
1 1/2" to 2" pump lines. An easily concealed vent assembly is
also provided.
